Skincare Routine For Normal/ Combination Skin

When it comes to beauty, skin care is my favorite topic to talk about especially for those of us with combination skin.

The basis of all makeup and the way to get that glowing look with no makeup starts with good skincare.

I love the feeling of applying makeup when my skin is clean and fresh, every product ends up going on so smooth. I also love that even if I’m not wearing makeup, having a good skincare routine helps me to feel confident in my own skin… Literally!

My NORMAL/COMBINATION SkinType

For the most part I find that I have normal to combination skin.

Typically my skin will be normal for the more mild months of the year and then during the winter will lean more towards dry and in the summer my skin will become more oily in my T-zone.

My skin can also be sensitive at times and prone to redness.

My cheeks usually have a red tone to them and anything too aggressive aggravates my skin even more. My cheeks are also pretty texturized with bumps.

This skin condition is something I’m continually working on and will update you on what I’m doing to even out my skin texture once I find my holy grail.

If you have a skin type similar to mine, then this skincare routine is perfect for you!

Let’s hop into my morning and night time skincare routines as they do differ a little bit.

All the products in this post are tried and true products that I absolutely love. I have been doing this skincare routine consistently for months now and have fallen in love with it.

Just a little disclaimer, skincare is a PERSONAL thing. This means that just because these products work for me, doesn’t mean they will be the perfect fit for you and your skin. I highly recommend using trial and error and finding products that work for you.

Morning Skincare Routine

For my morning skincare routine I keep things pretty simple. Most of the time I don’t want to spend forever doing my skincare because I have to get out the door and get on with my day.

Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel

I’ve used this cleanser for the past few years. Everytime I stray from it, I suffer the consequences and always end up repurchasing it.

It’s a gentle gel cleanser. The cleanser doesn’t foam which I actually like because I feel like it cleans my skin but doesn’t leave it feeling stripped.

Kikumasamune Sake Rich Moisture Lotion Toner

I love love love this toner. It’s very soothing and moisturizing but not heavy at all. Plus, it’s a k-beauty skincare product and has great reviews on Amazon!

Tree Of Life Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin C serum is a must in every skincare routine.

It has amazing benefits ranging from evening your skin tone, improving texture, reducing fine lines and improving skin dullness. The three main serums, including this Vitamin C serum,  I use in my skincare routine actually come in a three pack for 20 bucks which is a total steal!

I’m also obsessed with the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drops

It Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Anti- Aging Moisturizer

I’ve repurchased this moisturizer at least three times so far. I like how it’s thick but not too heavy for both day and night.

It feels creamy on the skin and gives the perfect amount of hydration. Also, the moisturizer has added anti-aging benefits.

It Cosmetics Anti- Aging Armour Tinted Sunscreen

Sunscreen is the anti-aging secret. Especially when you are applying serums like Vitamin C in the morning, it’s essential to protect your skin from the sun’s rays.

I like this tinted sunscreen because I can wear it by itself or under my makeup. I also have heard the Elta MD sunscreen is great and super light on the skin if you prefer no tint.

Night Time Skincare Routine:

My nighttime skin routine is a bit more extensive than some others, but like I said, I’m a die hard skincare fan so I find it to be calming and a form of self care at night.

I focus on hydration, serums and treatments at night because I have the time and this allows for the products to really seep into my skin and work their magic.

Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil

If you haven’t checked out my post all about double cleansing, check it out here

Oil cleansing is my favorite thing because it removes any oils, makeup and gunk from the day. Sounds amazing, right?

It is! Trust me…

After dissolving all my makeup, I emulsify the oil cleanser and rid myself of the day’s makeup.

Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel or Botanic Tree Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser

I alternative every other night between these two cleansers.

The glycolic acid exfoliating cleanser is amazing for oily skin, and skin that is texturized. It makes your skin feel super refreshed and baby soft. I love it especially if I have a breakout going on because it gets rid of the dead skin cells and helps zap a pimple right in the bud.

Kikumasamune Sake Rich Moisture Lotion Toner

I use the same toner at night as I do in the morning. However…

At night, I apply it first with a cotton pad to remove any leftover makeup (if there is any), and then will use it a second time directly on my face rather than on a cotton round to add extra hydration and benefits.

Tree Of Life Retinol Serum

I started using a retinol about a year ago for its amazing anti-aging benefits.

I’ve heard it isn’t best to mix Vitamin C and retinol together. So, for that reason, I do one at night and one during the day.

Tree Of Life Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Hyaluronic acid is one of the best moisturizing skin care products on the market.

Think of it as a big glass of water for your skin. It adds beautiful plumpness to the skin that everyone wants!

You can also use this in the morning if you are in need of extra moisture in the morning but for my combination skin using it once a day works well.

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum

This serum is extremely hydrating and AWESOME for sensitive skin.

The consistency of this serum is gel-like (similar to a gel moisturizer) and it makes your skin instantly feel more moisturized and radiant.

It Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Anti-Aging Moisturizer

I use my It Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream again before bed. I can’t get enough of this miracle cream!

Aria Starr Rosehip Seed Oil

I always end my routine with an oil to lock in all the benefits of the products beforehand.

Rosehip seed oil is great for keeping the skin soft, clearing breakouts, and acting as an anti-ager.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

In the winter time (or when I feel like my skin needs some extra TLC), I use a sleeping mask on top of all my skincare products.

I put this on right before I go to bed, even if I have already done all my other skincare. I’m telling you, you will wake up with the softest, most hydrated skin of your life after using this product!

Well that’s all for my skincare routine for normal/combination skin! I hope you all enjoyed it.

Let me know your favorite eye creams because ya girl has yet to find one she truly loves.

xx,
