Copycat Starbucks Honey Citrus Mint Tea

honey

A few weeks ago I finally decided to try the famous Starbucks Honey Citrus Mint Tea, formerly known as the “Medicine Ball”. Let me tell you if you have not tried this tea, try it ASAP! It is perfect if you want something warm that’s not coffee, get this tea. It is slightly sweet but has a zing thanks to the lemon and mint combination.

I’ve already ordered this drink multiple times, so I figured it was time to make it at home. The key to making the drink taste exactly like the Starbucks version is to use the same tea that they use. However, if you can’t find their specific teas, any mint or peach tea should give a similar vibe.

The original Honey Citrus Mint Tea Recipe uses lemonade. I like to use a smaller amount of lemonade and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. It just adds a hint of freshness to the tea. If you don’t have any lemonade on hand, the juice from half a lemon should do the trick!

And I don’t know what about this tea it is, but it makes me feel better if I am feeling sick. It is most likely just made up in my head, but I’ll take it. Anything that “cures” the sniffles is a win in my book.

Copycat Starbucks Honey Citrus Mint Tea

Recipe:

1/2 cup Water

1/2- 3/4 cup lemonade (with a small squeeze of fresh lemon if you’d like)

1-2 tsp of organic honey

1 Teavana Jade Citrus Mint Green Teabag

1 Teavana Peach Tranquility Herbal Teabag

Directions:

-In a small saucepan or a microwave-safe mug heat up water and lemonade mixture

-Once the liquid is heated add in a squeeze of fresh lemon and the Jade Citrus Mint and Peach tranquility tea bags

-Let the tea bags steep for a few minutes (let them steep longer if you want the tea stronger)

-Remove tea bags and stir in honey

Enjoy!
